Several materials are an explosion hazard. These are often gases. Furthermore, there are materials that usually are not explosive but which could still lead to an explosion under certain circumstances – for example in a finely ground state (dust explosions) or in fumes.
Beenen regularly performs assignments for clients from industries that encounter these risks, such as the chemical industry, food industry, feed industry and waste water treatment plants.
ATEX directive
One of the ways to prevent explosions is to make sure that all possible ignition sources, such as electrical installations, meet the safety requirements that are recorded in the ATEX95 directive, and as result sufficiently decrease the chances an explosion occurring.
Beenen is experienced in constructing electrical installations in areas with a high explosion risk, and in the application of intrinsically safe components, insulators and barriers.
